Dusty Conditions Likely Over the Next Two Days

Air Quality Shows Slight Improvement, Dr. Harsh Vardhan Directs Agencies to Contain Dust, Check Garbage Burning Air quality of Delhi and NCR, which worsened on June 12-13, 2018, due to the incoming dust from Rajasthan, has shown a slight improvement today, with PM10 declining to 759 µg/m 3  at 4.00 p.m from a peak of 823 µg/m 3  at 5.00 p.m.yesterday.   In view of the seriousness of the situation, Union Minister of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has directed concerned agencies to be on maximum alert and to ensure all necessary measures to contain sources of dust and to check garbage burning.  He also appealed to the people to avoid unnecessary exposure, given the prevailing situation. Consequently, the Task Force under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) met in CPCB and recommended that construction activity-related enforcement measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)be brought into operation immediately.  The Task Force also

NITI Aayog has been engaging with State Governments to evolve a shared vision of national development and strategies from time to time to share the best practices. The Highlights of the Regulations are as below: Incentives to teachers as provided in the earlier Regulations of 2010 and subsequent amendments have been retained.   These include incentives for M.Phil/Ph.D. API based PBAS System has been removed. High Pollution Levels in Delhi Mainly Due to Dust Storms from Rajasthan: Environment Ministry

Dusty Conditions likely to Prevail over Next three Days The high pollution levels during this time of the year in Delhi are unusual and primarily due to dust storms from Rajasthan.  Rajasthan is facing extremely dry weather conditions, with high temperatures and wind speeds. The wind direction in Delhi since June 10 has changed to West and North West and then since June 12 to West and South West, due to which hot air, along with dust from Rajasthan has started moving into Delhi.  According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the current surface winds in Delhi are in the range of 5-6 m/sec and wind direction is West to South West, which is likely to continue over the next three days.  Therefore, it is expected that dusty conditions will prevail in Delhi over the next three days.   Major construction agencies, municipal corporations and Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) have been alerted to ensure water sprinkling, as required.  Ministry of Environment, Fores

Proposed amendments to Income-tax Rules, 1962 - Inviting comments of stakeholders

Income-tax Rules, 1962 (I.T.Rules) prescribe Form No.36 for filing an appeal to the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT). Further, a memorandum of cross-objections to the ITAT can be filed in Form No.36A. The existing Form No.36 and Form No 36A have not been revised since long.  These Forms are required to be rationalised to make them more informative and also to capture information regarding amount disputed in pending appeals before ITAT, which is vital for formulating the policy of the department for litigation management. In view of the above, a draft notification proposing amendments in Form No. 36, Form No.36A and Rule 47 of the IT Rules has been uploaded on the website of the Income Tax Department  www.incometaxindia.gov.in  for comments from stakeholders and general public. PM to visit Chhattisgarh on 14th June 2018

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on Thursday, 14 th  June. At Bhilai, the Prime Minister will dedicate the modernized and expanded Bhilai Steel Plant, to the nation. The modernization includes installation of cutting-edge technologies for improvement in productivity, yield, quality, cost competitiveness, energy efficiency and environmental protection. During the same event, Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the permanent campus of IIT Bhilai. He will unveil also a plaque to mark the commencement of phase-2 of BharatNet. Odisha can produce 100 million tonnes of steel: Steel Minister
